After getting cleaned up we went out to dinner that night at a place called Dominic's, an extremely fancy Italian restaurant in The Hill. I had tutored a group of girls in the anatomy course over the summer, and as a thank you at the end they gave me a generous gift certificate to this place. We were greeted pretty much like in the picture below. We had about 3 waiters (one of which was specifically there to keep our glasses full), there were chandeliers and statues there too. As we were walking to our table we both just looked at each other and laughed, thinking how incredibly out of our element and social level we were. I really enjoyed it though...it was fun to experience (having them finish cooking and preparing our food next to the table was fun), and likely the last time we go there...we couldn't afford to go on our own. We'll just stick to places where we can read and understand the menu.

It's not a cruise, but it's pretty close
A couple of weeks ago, Linzi and I decided to go ride the paddle boats at Forest Park, something that we've wanted to do since right after we got here last year. We rented one for an hour from a little boathouse on this large pond near the Art Museum and golf course. It was really pretty and a lot of fun (not to mention a pretty good workout...paddling against water for an hour will make your legs sore the next day)...we saw some ducks, found a golf ball, high centered for a few minutes in a shallow spot, and watched a girl from another boat fall in. We would totally recommend it to anyone looking for a good time. It was a great last date before school started.

What a fun date! I don't think I've ever been to a restaurant that fancy - exciting!
that looks so fun! and what a nice restaurant!
I had no idea that you guys were so fancy! I wish that I could have seen you at that place - I would have felt completely out of my element, too. In fact, I sometimes get a little uncomfortable at Dairy Queen because it's so high class. :) You guys deserve a little pampering from time to time! FUN!
Looks like fun! i have always wanted to try those little "boats". I hope all is going well for you guys!! Miss seeing you!!!
