Calling all Sleuths

So I've got a puzzle that needs to be solved, and anybody's invited to take a stab at it, including amateurs and trained professionals like Encyclopedia Brown, Super Sleuth or Robert Langdon.

I recently had someone proofread my personal statement for my residency application. He wrote some comments on the paper, but there's one word that Linzi and I have been unable to decipher. It's standalone, so there's no cues that point to its meaning. Let me know what you think.

(and yes, I know it says CLEAR STORY on the left...it's the other word I'm looking for)

wow...that's difficult. I am thinking maybe 'genuine'...but the dot above is confusing me as well as the poor cursive. Is the period/dot after 'clear story' or is it a dot for the unknown word?!

Nick thinks it says "juice". ha.

Sorry, no help from us.

"Genuine" was my first guess, too. Juicyfruit was my second.

I was thinking julienne...which is very important to do when you're "cooking" up a great personal statement. hee hee. ok. sorry. I need more sleep.

I am completely frustrated by this. After 20 minutes, I quit.

This makes me angry every time I look at it. I have no idea what it says, but if you'll give me the name and number of who wrote it...I'll call them. It can't be written in English. I must know.

It looks like someone's signature...it's in cursive while the legible words are not. I guess it could be "genuine," but I wouldn't want that person to spell-check for me ;)

It's been a couple of weeks since you posted this...was the mystery ever solved?

The mystery is ongoing to this day...I don't think I'll ever find out
