1/2 way there....

Sam had her 6 month check up today.
Here's how she's growing:
Weight 16 pound 8 ounces (50%)
Length 28 1/2 inches (off the charts)
Here's what she's doing:
Sitting by herself (biffs it every now and then)
Eating all sorts of fruits and vegis (except anything green)
Squealing with delight, Shrieking with displeasure, Squawking just because
Blowing raspberries
Sweating excessively (seriously, her palms and soles are constantly wet)
Here's what she's loving:
Bath time
Putting her blanket over her head and moving her head back and forth
Kicking her feet all the time (so hard I swear her heels should be bruised!)
Putting my cell phone in her mouth
Being lifted into the air by her dad
Sticking her hand in mom's mouth (especially when she's tired)
Playing peek-a-boo
Reading books (Dr Seuss sure uses some interesting words...)
Slobbering all over mom's face
Here's what she's being called:
Samantha Belle(when she's in trouble)
Pippa
Sammy-kins
The Screecher Creature
Here's what she looks like:
While we were in Utah, Emily Utley of Emily Jane Photography (site found here: http://www.emilyjanephotography.com) took these darling pictures. I was amazed when I saw them because in the 2 1/2 hour session, she seriously smiled once. Most of the shoot she just had her hand shoved in her mouth! Thanks Em. We love them.

Date night........

A few weeks ago Chris told me that we were going to go on a date. Hatty was coming to visit and she said that she would watch Sam. He asked me if I wanted to know what we were doing. I like surprises, so I said no. A few days later, I was looking up stuff to do in Tucson in October and found out that Shrek the Musical was in town. I started to think, is that where he is taking me? He had mentioned that it would be a pricier date. If you know anything about me, you might know that I do not really enjoy musicals. Why must you sing when you can just talk? I don't really get it. I asked Chris, "Are you taking me to Shrek?" His reply was, "Do you really want to know?". I again said no and instead just stewed for a week preparing myself for a musical.
Tuesday night arrived and after dinner we got in the car. I said, "Okay so where are we going?". He told me to open up his glove box. This is what I found-

The concert was awesome. It was in a smaller theater which added to the relaxing/laid back atmosphere and the music was incredible. One of my favorite parts was that the security detail included 2 woman over 65 in bright yellow shirts. Maybe looks aren't everything.

This was our favorite song found here: http://youtu.be/S8QHyu0UCtA
Do yourself a favor and listen to it.
