A few weeks ago Chris told me that we were going to go on a date. Hatty was coming to visit and she said that she would watch Sam. He asked me if I wanted to know what we were doing. I like surprises, so I said no. A few days later, I was looking up stuff to do in Tucson in October and found out that Shrek the Musical was in town. I started to think, is that where he is taking me? He had mentioned that it would be a pricier date. If you know anything about me, you might know that I do not really enjoy musicals. Why must you sing when you can just talk? I don't really get it. I asked Chris, "Are you taking me to Shrek?" His reply was, "Do you really want to know?". I again said no and instead just stewed for a week preparing myself for a musical.
Tuesday night arrived and after dinner we got in the car. I said, "Okay so where are we going?". He told me to open up his glove box. This is what I found-
The concert was awesome. It was in a smaller theater which added to the relaxing/laid back atmosphere and the music was incredible. One of my favorite parts was that the security detail included 2 woman over 65 in bright yellow shirts. Maybe looks aren't everything.

Awesome surprise date and Chris is such a sweetie for keeping it a secret so you could be even more excited and of course for planning it!
Well done, Chris! What a secret! (Hey, can you donate plasma at a Colbie Caillat concert? HA! Great memory...)
Good job Chris!!! How fun! So happy you're getting pampered during this horrible residency year!
