The miracle of life.....

I got to see my first vaginal delivery today. It was amazing. I was speechless. The woman had no epidural (crazy if you ask me) and delivered a 9 lb baby (which was nothig compared to her previous 10 lb baby). I couldn't help but laugh as she kept telling her husband to shut up and that he talked too much while he was trying to support her during the process. All in all, the most life changing 30 minutes of my life!

I had no epidural with both children. I wouldn’t change it for the world. I also wouldn’t be opposed to a epidural if it came down to it. God designed out body’s to handle the birthing process and it is truly amazing to feel you body and it’s astonishing when you and your unborn child work together to deliver. If you ever want to read up on it I highly recommend the Bradley Method.

that's so cool linzi! i think i chose the wrong career...I would have LOVED to be a labor and delivery nurse. it's the neatest experience.

i'm impressed! i remember seeing the movie "the miracle of life" at a class in BYU and at one point I thought I was going to puke and the next part I almost started crying....then i called my mom and asked her how she ever endured the birthing process. i guess i've changed a little since then:)

Ummm...I would rather poke myself in the eye than give birth without an epidural. When we were waiting for little Eli to get on with it the day he was born, the lady in the room next door delivered without one. There was all kinds of screaming...I've never been so frightened. ;) The next time a nurse came into my room I said, "Tell me that lady didn't have an epidural! Tell me that lady didn't have an epidural!" Child birth. Good times.

Just wait til it's your own. There is no other feeling in life like it. It's the most amazing thing you will ever experience. It's almost surreal, and you think, "I didn't know it was possible to feel this much happiness and awe." Just wait. It's the greatest thing life has to offer--welcoming life.
