Humorous encounter from the hospital yesterday:
We were rounding on our patients in the morning. One of them, who's been an interesting character as we've helped him throughout the week, was laying upside down (with his head at the foot of the bed) in his bed when we went in to check on him. He seemed to be doing as well as he normally did, so we didn't really pursue the matter, and he didn't offer much of an explanation, but it was just kind of weird to see him like that upon entering his room.
But the thing that really made me laugh was what happened when we were visiting a consult patient. Our chief resident was making a quick assessment about a possible upcoming surgery while she was sitting up in bed eating her breakfast. She is a very thin, cute elderly woman. Anyhoo, the resident didn't want to make her lay back in bed and needed to feel her abdomen quickly, so he tried to do it while she was sitting there. As he started to feel her stomach she exclaimed, "That's my bosom...you can't touch those." And then a few seconds later..."I know they're a lot lower than they should be." Aaron (Dr. Hot for those who frequent this blog) and I thought it was very funny. Hope you do too.

So funny! That lady could have been friends with my hard-of-hearing grandmother before she passed away. I'm sure I've told you the story of the doctor trying to listen to her heart with the stethoscope?
Doc: "Two little breaths."
Grandma: "They used to be bigger..."
Classic.
Classic moments! So hilarious! I should've turned around in my bed when Cameron was born...that would've been awesome!!
Love the stories!
Lol! That poor lady...and poor doctor!
Ha ha ha! That is really funny! When I scan our patients and they have under-wire bras on we have them slip them off. It's amazing what a bra can do, I'll leave it at that! :)
man, i really need to have you guys over for dinner so chris can tell me all the funny stories that aaron never tells me! thanks for sharing!!!
