Things I am missing at this moment:
-Cable (yes this makes the top of the list because when you live in a new city and have no friends and are stuck on the couch breast feeding a bunch, the TV becomes your friend and right now we get one channel. That's right, you read that right, one. ABC is all we get so I find myself watching whatever it will give me including the View, Jimmy Kimmel, the NBA Finals, and even the Bachelorette) Okay, I lied, we do get three PBS and a bunch of Spanish channels but they don't count as far as I am concerned.
-My friends...that's all I will say because if I say anymore i will cry. So far the person I have had the longest conversation with (besides Chris) is the locksmith. He sure was nice but I don't think he wants to have play dates with me and sam.
-The Kirkwood Library (i visited the one here today and I must say the DVD collection was pitiful and so was the book selection.
-My pre-pregnant body. I did P90X with Chris yesterday and went "running" today for the first time in like three or four months and I feel like a crippled old woman today. I literally could barely do half the moves on the video. Who does that trapeze Drea think she is anyway?
-Free family entertainment. Chris asked me what I wanted to do today so I grabbed the Arizona travel book and looked up things to do in Tucson. After deciding that the desert museum and various native American museums were not worth paying over 9$ for in the 100 degree heat we settled on a stroll through SuperWalmart. Yes we spent more than 9$. Which brings me to the next thing I miss-
-Aldi. I loved you so. You were cheap, simple, and I could always be in and out in minutes.
-Green. It is just so brown here. No lush green grass, just spiky dull green things.

Things I do not miss at this moment:
-Humidity (dry heat rocks!)
-Stark white, mis-painted apartment walls
-Oven that burned everything
-Chris being gone all the time (now we are together 24/7....and I get him for just a few more precious weeks!)
-Not having Samantha (she is the best alarm clock and entertains us for hours)

I miss you guys. Does that make anything better? ;) Ahhhh...I am not envious of the adjustment period in a new neighborhood and ward. It's one of the things I dread most about leaving here someday. But hey - when I do leave, I'm taking cable with me! What is the delay for heaven sake?!
Love the Samantha additions to the blog. What an adorable little creature!
Linz - sorry I haven't called you back, I'm a jerk! Love the blog update and the new pics! Oh man, that new town adjustment stuff is definitely no fun--I'm thinking of you & miss you! Hopefully you like your new ward & I'm sure you'll have new awesome friends there!
I wish we could have a play date so bad! Moving someplace new is so hard...I'm feeling some of the same things as you up in Deerfield where I know no one! And missing Aldi too... :)
Moving sucks. So does life without Aldi. And life without the Brown's. We miss you guys! Summer t.v. sucks. Is your computer in a place where you can watch Hulu? I got hooked on General Hospital for a couple of years because we didn't have cable and my kid needed to nurse right during that hour. What else was I gonna do? Read a book?
Linzi,
We'll be in Tucson in two and a half weeks. We'll have to have lots of play dates!
Love,
Elise
oh i'm so sorry! i'm sure with time you will make great friends and really come to love arizona.
your little sam is adorable. i just love the newborn pictures you have of her.
Love the pictures. Pretty soon you'll be loving the heat, when the rest of us are freezing. We miss you guys tons...if that makes a difference.
Can you Skype yet? We want to see how Samantha has changed.
Luv ya,
Hatty
I am missing my friends super bad right now too! We really need to plan to be in Utah at the same time! Your family pictures are beautiful! And don't feel bad, sometimes all we can think of to do around here is going to the mall....Italians love to shop! I hope you find a better library and some more family fun out there!
Glad to see you guys made it there safe and sound. We miss you already. Driving into Stonecrest and seeing your not seeing your cars parked there just isn't right.
MISS YOU! The kids still look for your cars and talk about you. Every girl baby is called "samantha". This is bringing me to tears. Come BACK!
Crap. thanks for making me think of my life in one week. oh, and miss you too. just start showing up to peoples houses and pretend you had a playdate scheduled. Usually people are polite and won't kick you out. That's what I do. good luck!
wait, one more thing...THREE PBS channels? luckkyyy...also, you should get netflix with a roku or apple tv or wii. awesome. still miss you.
