"Friendly Reminder"

So today I was getting our mail and I opened a letter from our HOA. I was thinking it was probably a welcome to our community letter. Instead I read the following:

"On a site inspection of the community on 8/22/2011, it was noted by the Association Manager, Pierre Renault, that your landscaping needs some attention, specifically the removal of dead shrub in front yard."

(As noted in previous post we have been doing work to our back yard and that included digging up some really ugly shrubs. We had pulled them to the front yard to let them die so we could then throw them away in the trash can the day before trash pick up)

Followed by: "Ignoring the situation may lead to fines if not resolved."

#1. Are you serious Pierre. Do you have a life? A dead shrub? This is your complaint? What, it doesn't blend into the dry, desert, cactus, dirty landscape that is all around?
#2. What on earth do we get for our monthly $35 HOA fee? I have yet to see this "common area" that you say you maintain.
#3. This letter does not feel like a very friendly reminder.
#4. How often are these "site inspections" happening?

So much for being welcomed to the neighborhood. Mr Renault, consider yourself blacklisted.

What a crock!
This reminds me of the bill I have sitting on my desk wanting me to pay $.30. Who sends out a bill for $.30? Honestly!

AHHH! I'm having vivid memories of living in Country Springs and finding death threats left on my car for having parked in the visitor parking spot for 5 minutes!! They are always watching!!!!

LAME! Go put them on his porch! Ha Ha! Or put them in the well-maintained "common area"!
You have always been just a little messy...:)

That is funny to me. You of all people getting a letter about your messy yard. That is something that I would expect to get, not you.

We got the same "welcome" from our HOA for little weeds growing through the cracks in the driveway. HOA enforcers must be angry little people. Back yard looks great though. Nice job guys!

We got a similar letter and I too thought it was a "welcome to the neighborhood."

I'll have you know I wrote a snappy reply back listing all the hard work I'd put into the outside of our house that they'd overlooked, mentioning we'd been there less than a month, my wife was pregnant, and not to mention all the work we had to do inside the house.

I also made sure to remind them that had they enforced such a high standard on the previous home owners I wouldn't be out there working my tail off every single evening until it got too dark.

I've gotten a few more I'll have to tell you about some other time... HOA's... grrr!!!
