Saturday driving....

Yesterday was lots of fun. We checked out a book fair and found some French comic books that Chris got pretty excited about. He also found one called Le Petit Prince which is apparently a really famous children's book in France. Luckily, when we have children they will be so brilliant that they will just know French and he can read it to them (and then they can read it to me!)

The Purple Trees

So we may not have mountains here in Missouri, but we have these (I don't know the real name of them, so I shall call them the purple trees)....I love them.

Mad + Chris = slightly humorous

So those of you who know Chris know that he does not have an angry bone in his body. He is just so patient and happy all the time. Finally, after almost three years of marriage I have seen mad Chris. All it took was a phone call from the Nissan dealership telling him that we had to spend lots of money on brand new Nissan parts to replace the already brand new non Nissan parts that he and a friend from school had spent lots of time fixing already. (Apparently the mechanic told him that it was a big no no to use non factory parts on a car, and chris was like, what I am 3 years old?) Anyhow, I found this in the kitchen as proof the the incident....needless to say, it made me chuckle.

Hoppy Easter, Yo!

Happy Easter from the ghetto! Dude Da' Bunny just wanted to give an Easter shout out to all our friends and family.

Somebody gave Linzi these shoes at work on Friday...I tried to get her to wear them to Stake Conference today, but she just wouldn't go along with it. We both really like the teeth and tails.

Linzi finding the candy (that she bought) on Easter morning...what a happy girl!

Fly Away Little Birdies!

This is the day that Linzi's been waiting for for almost 3 years now. When we got married Dustin was able to hook us up with a truckload of free furniture that he acquired while working for a moving company, including our wonderful "Swan Couches." I actually didn't think they were as bad as Linzi did (except for how the cushions would slide off the couch if you sat on it for over 5 minutes), but she's been hoping to upgrade since day one. They finally flew out of our house this week. It was our first experience selling something on Craigslist, and now I find myself looking around the house to find other things we can sell...it's kind of addicting.

We'll Miss You!!!!!!!!

We found a great deal on a new couch and loveseat at Rothman Furniture. They both recline (thanks for the inspiration Tyler and Kristin), the couch has a little drink holder in the middle and the loveseat rocks as well. They are super comfortable and have exceded our expectations. I am a little bit obsessive about keeping them clean and "new", even though I secretly want to spill a big red drink on them to test their stain-repelling capabilities. I'm sure it will happen soon enough. :0)

Putting the Loveseat to good use....

Singing in the rain........

On Saturday I ran in a 10K with Natalie and Kresta. As you can tell from the pictures, it was just a lovely day for a run. It was in the 30s, raining (at some points pouring), and we had to run the course two times because it was only a 5K distance. The funniest part was the fact that maybe about a total of 15-20 people actually showed up to race. We were 3 of like 6 women or something so we took 2nd and 3rd...and got medals and everything!!! By the time we were finished we were all soaked to the bone and so we just jumped into our cars to get home to a warm shower. Thanks for letting me join you girls, it was, well....good company at least!

Gala anyone?

Chris and I got to attend the 2009 Children's Hospital Employee Gala on Saturday night. It was a lot of fun. They hired a MC to be in charge of the program that was pretty funny. They gave away lots of prizes (don't worry, we didn't even win a free ice cream) and we all had a hand held voting device to play a trivia game about the hospital. It was pretty fancy so it was fun to see everybody all dressed up because we all know that scrubs do NOTHING for the body shape! After the dinner and program we headed down to the dance floor and I, for the first time in our almost three year marriage, got to see Chris dance....it made the whole night worth it! We decided that perhaps we should invest in some dance lessons as a couple so we would even have a clue to what to do!
