So I have been meaning to post this for a few weeks now (purely so that I can come back and remember it!). Since I have been breastfeeding I have again been able to observe Chris sleep. He does not disappoint. One night I saw him lift up his sheet and look down it (as if to see if he had wet himself) so I said to him "just checking to see if you peed your pants?". He answered "just checking the diaper" in a very nonchalant way. I guess he is embracing his role as father and diaper changer!
And while on the subject of breastfeeding, I can now say that this must be the 2nd vow that mother's take after childbirth. Why did no one tell me that it would consist of toe-curling, excruciating pain? I mean, people mentioned here and there that it is uncomfortable at first, but I will say without hesitation that that is a MAJOR understatement. My friend the other day compared it to putting your nipples in a garbage disposal. Now that is a far better description if you ask me!

Oh Linz, I know the feeling all to well. Just wait until she learns how to bite. Then it really gets interesting. If you are in so much pain you can always try breast shields. I think they sell them at babies/toys r us. They work wonders!!!
i've also felt like everyone holds back the info we most need! i hope nursing gets better for you! i think it has been a lot easier and less painful with baby #2...so at least you have that to look forward to!
Breast feeding is the WORST!!! The. Worst. I just didn't want to sound negative or discouraging, so I didn't say much. But ya, it's like getting a titty-twister or a purple-nurple for hours a day. The worst.
Didn't you know that babies are born with razor blades in their mouths. That is what I thought it felt like. Justin would let me use his finger as a bite block while I cried and nursed. Eventually it does get better though. I ended up needing to use a nipple shield for a little bit so I could heal but now I'm back to regular and it doesn't hurt at all. Even though it was more painful than labor I still think it was worth it. Good luck.
