One year older, wiser too?

Sam officially made it through her first year. Phew.
She is weighing in at a whopping 21 pounds and is 30 1/2 inches long.

She is so much fun right now, I am loving this stage. It is amazing to see how much she really does understand. For instance, the other day I asked her if she wanted to eat. She immediately ran right over to the fridge and tried to open it.
She continues to love yogurt, grapes, bananas, noodles and cereal.
She has recently become a book worm. She will sit and read books all day long. She is in love with any/all Karen Krantz books and any book that allows her to lift a flap.
She loves playing outside, going to the park, and playing with recyclables (seriously, she loves nothing more than playing with empty yogurt cups or chocolate milk containers or even big empty boxes)

We celebrated her birthday at a park with a couple friends and lots of ducks. Instead of a cake, she chowed down on a banana muffin and gogurt. Both equally as messy as a cake!

Here are some of the fun pictures that Emily took from emilyjanephotography. You might note that she is on a chair in all of them, but as you can imagine, a mobile 12 month old does not listen to, "stand right there and don't move, and oh yeah, smile"!
