One Week Later

What a week it's been! We can't believe that Samantha Belle has been with us for that long. It's been such a great week. Colleen (Linzi's mom) has been with us, helping us keep things under control. We are incredibly grateful that she's been here with us. Samantha is the perfect baby. She pretty much sleeps all the time, or looks up at us with her cute little eyes. She rarely cries, and when she does, it's the cutest little squeaky cry. We even have to wake her up during the night to feed her.

We've been busy since we got home. We've had to check her bilirubin levels a few times because she was jaundiced after birth. It's no fun to watch your little girl get poked multiple times, but at least the results were reassuring. We never had to do the lights, but her color has come back to normal and her numbers are improving. We've taken her to Powder Valley, the Botanical Gardens, the grocery store, and the mall (come on, Colleen is here like I said...). I'd like to see you try to keep Linzi down after a pregnancy...I'm so happy that she's doing well (aside from the general joys of recovering from a delivery and breastfeeding). Samantha has discovered a "fun" new game. It's called "Poop on Daddy." She has decided that she isn't done with number 2 when I change her diaper, and has successfully shot me twice while I've tried to clean her. Luckily she's so cute that I just laugh at her while she does it.

Talking about cute, we got a very talented friend to do a newborn photo shoot yesterday. Her website is found here: http://danicanelsonphotography.com. We've only seen a couple of them, but love them to death. We can't wait to see the rest of them. Soon enough our house will be a shrine to our little girl...it'll put my old Jazz and Ute shrines to shame.
